Initiatives

Government of Telangana announced the Telangana Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Policy in 2020, with a vision to make Telangana, a preferred investment destination for the manufacturing of electric vehicles. Under the policy, a plethora of initiatives have been proposed as mentioned below.

Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems (EV & ESS) Cluster

  • Support infrastructure like roads, power, and water
  • Built-Up Space with ready factory sheds to be used mainly by MSME units
  • A common facility for Design, prototyping, and testing available to all units in the cluster
  • Common infrastructure such as Drainage/ Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP)/Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and utilities such as Power, Gas and Water
  • A State-of-art Business environment with facilities such as Convention and exhibition centers
  • Shared facilities to meet staffing and training requirements
  • A Logistics Hub with multimodal transport for safe and efficient handling of cargo

Preferential Market Access

  • Policy of the Government of India on preferential market access in government procurement for domestically manufactured electronics products to be implemented in all Government of Telangana departments. Special preference to be given to Telangana-based manufacturers

Research & Development

  • EV Research Hub with a dedicated facility to house EV R&D centers by domestic and global EV majors
  • Centers of Excellence for conducting market-focused research on Battery Technologies, battery management, motors, and controllers
  • T- Fund to offer financial support to Start-ups for research and innovation in EV & Battery technologies
  • T-Works Automotive Prototyping Center with a dedicated wing for prototyping of Electric Vehicle components/ assembly & battery

Initiatives by TSREDCO

  • TSREDCO already installed 30 No. of EV chargers under Fame - I in various government departments.
  • Total 111 Public Charging Station are available in Hyderabad as on date including Government & Private.
  • TSREDCO is planning to install 600 Nos. Charging Stations in next 3 years under PPP model. The locations will be provided by TSREDCO. Location identifications are under process.
  • The Implementing agencies are carrying out the required feasibility survey along with Location Owner, TSREDCO and DISCOM to finalize the same​
